Biofuels

Feedstock sustainability and value led approach to delivering biofuels solutions.

Since its inception Peak Carbon identified that access to low cost and sustainable biomass feedstock would become ever increasingly constrained, as the demand for bioenergy accelerates as part of a global decarbonisation energy transition.

Peak Carbon has since developed proprietary access to feedstock sources and biofuels production for the financing and implementation of renewable fuel value chains, as well as advising international oil and gas companies and global investment banks on their biofuels feedstock strategy.

Case Study:
Displacing Fossil Fuels as an Oil Refinery Feedstock

Using sawdust residues as a feedstock, Green Fuels Nordic produce 20,000 tonnes of woody pyrolysis oil per year at their plant in Lieksa, Finland.

This renewable fuel can be used to displace fossil-based vacuum gas oil as a feedstock to an oil refinery’s fluid catalytic cracker, leading to the production of renewable diesel and gasoline.

Peak Carbon provide ongoing support to Green Fuels Nordic with respect to biofuels handling and logistics and placement of the pyrolysis oil in European refineries.
