Forest Carbon

Innovative screening and financing techniques to convert best-suited land into forest carbon sinks.

Peak Carbon specialises in the identification, implementation and land purchase financing of carbon emissions reduction projects involving improved forest management, afforestation or reforestation, primarily in the United States.

Using the team’s first hand experience developing over 100 forest carbon projects in the US, Peak Carbon has, together with strategic partners, developed a proprietary methodology for the remote screening of land and its suitability for reducing and sequestering CO2 emissions.

Case Study:
Sequestering CO2 in Humboldt County, USA

Peak Carbon provided financial incentives for a local timber company to commit to cease commercial harvesting on 38,000 acres of forestland.

The project area has a mix of tree species in the heart of Redwood country that will now be protected from logging for at least 100 years.

Having already helped reduce approximately 2.4 million tonnes of CO2, the future growth is expected to reduce an additional 3.6m tonnes of CO2 over the next 20 years.
